Privacy Policy

Speech recognition stays on your Mac. Website access, payments and support are explained separately below.

Effective and updated · 2026-09-18

This policy covers the current website and website-distributed development builds. We will update the relevant disclosures to reflect actual data flows before live purchases and licensing are introduced.

01Who is responsible

Talklism is provided by XU LELONG, an individual developer in mainland China ("we" or "us"). We are responsible for website, support and order information that we process ourselves. Third-party services, including payments, also have their own privacy policies.

02Audio, text and local storage

Microphone audio and recordings you select are recognized locally on your Mac. Talklism’s local recognition process does not automatically upload recordings or transcripts to us or to cloud recognition services. We do not collect that content through this process for model training.

The app stores settings, recent transcript history, audio-file task progress, runtime diagnostics and audio caches required for recognition on your Mac. Original audio files are unchanged. Local storage does not mean upload, but it also does not mean that all data disappears as soon as the app closes.

By default, transcript history keeps the latest 20 items, replacing older entries when the limit is reached. You can clear history through the app menu. Task progress and some caches support resuming unfinished transcription. Some caches and logs may remain until later cleanup; we do not promise automatic deletion after a fixed interval.

You control local records. We cannot remotely read or delete them for you. Uninstalling the app may not remove these files; contact us for cleanup steps for your version. Manage exported files, system backups and copies held by other software separately.

03System permissions and the clipboard

Microphone permission records voice input that you start. Input Monitoring responds to global shortcuts. Accessibility permission supports experimental automatic paste when you explicitly enable it; the app may inspect the current application and input field locally to choose how to deliver text. You can revoke permissions in macOS System Settings, which may disable the corresponding features.

Recognized text can be written to the system clipboard. If you paste it into another app, send it to someone or enable system clipboard synchronization, subsequent processing depends on that app and your system settings.

04Website and downloads

The website runs on a Tencent Cloud server in Singapore. Vercel is temporarily retained as a migration fallback, and some requests may still reach Vercel during the transition. Cloudflare provides domain DNS and installer download services. To deliver pages and files and protect the services, we and these providers may process access data such as IP addresses, request times, requested paths and browser or device information.

Our website currently has no advertising trackers, third-party visitor analytics code or registration form. The light/dark preference is saved only in browser local storage and can be removed by clearing this site’s browser data. Our website code does not set tracking cookies. Third-party checkout pages explain their own data practices.

05Payments, orders and future licensing

When you use Waffo Pancake checkout, Waffo and its payment partners process information needed for checkout, payment and fraud prevention. We can view order information in the merchant dashboard, including checkout email, order number, product, amount, currency and payment status, to verify transactions, deliver purchases and handle refunds. We do not ask you for your WeChat Pay password or full bank-card security credentials.

Live website purchases are not yet available and paid licensing is still being prepared. If future activation or device licensing requires additional information to be transmitted, we will disclose the actual fields, purposes and retention before enabling it. This policy does not grant blanket permission to collect device information.

06Contacting us and use of information

If you contact us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to answer questions, investigate issues or handle orders. Remove recordings, text and personal information you do not want to share before sending diagnostics. Contacting support does not cause the app to upload local logs automatically.

We do not sell your personal information or use audio or text received through support for model training. We do not otherwise disclose it to third parties except to service providers needed for the purposes above, or as necessary to meet legal obligations or address disputes.

07Retention, security and processing locations

Local retention is described above. Support emails you choose to send are kept to handle the matter and related follow-up questions; you can request deletion of content no longer needed. Information required for an order dispute or applicable legal obligation is restricted to that purpose and deleted when no longer needed. Specific live-order and licensing retention rules will be added before launch.

Our server access logs support operations and security troubleshooting. They rotate when size limits are reached, with no guaranteed retention period in days. Provider access and payment records are retained according to actual service configuration, provider policies and applicable law. Retention periods vary by provider and record type.

The website uses HTTPS. We limit access to customer information we receive. Local data also depends on the security of your device account, disk and backups. Providers including Tencent Cloud, Vercel, Cloudflare and Waffo may process access or transaction information outside your location; consult their policies as well. This does not turn local audio recognition into cloud recognition.

08Your choices, requests and policy updates

You can revoke system permissions, clear browser appearance preferences and manage local history using the app’s controls. Contact us to request information about, access to, correction or deletion of information we hold, or to withdraw applicable consent. After any necessary identity checks, we will handle requests under applicable law and explain any records that must legally be retained.

Talklism is not specifically directed at children. Minors should use and purchase it with a guardian’s guidance. Guardians can contact us if a child has provided personal information to us.

If information handling changes materially, we will update this policy and its date, and give additional notice or request consent where applicable. This policy does not replace purchase and usage rules, which are covered in the Terms of Service.
